    Hi All,

I have a pear tree about very tall and thin, an apple tree, plum tree and an acer varying from 10-15ft. They range from 3-5 years (since purchase) but I have never pruned them.

Some branches are low and are mixing with other shrubs so I would like to cut them, will this be wise to do and will it help the tree to grow higher.

The pear tree also has another branch coming from the base so would it be wise to cut this so there is only one main trunk. it does seem so grow up but not very out, like a conifer!

My main aim is to clear the lower branches to clear away from other shrubs.

    Any tips most welcome.
