We have a Hawthorn Tree in our garden that I should imagine is 30 - 40 years old and about 25-30 foot high.
I have been trying to find infomation about this tree and have read that it's flowers are white.

    But our tree flowers Pink.
    Any idea's why?
    Thanks.

Some Crataegus monogyna also turn pink as they age. You can tell the difference by the way, the leaves on C. laevigatus are much more glossy than on ordinary hawthorn and later on there are two seeds in each berry rather than one.

I think they go pink as they are fertilised as a sign to bees that they should go elsewhere.
