    husband also brought these home today.can i put them in a pot or will they be better in the ground? [​IMG]

    They look like fairly old plants, judging from the stems on the left. They need to go in the ground. Dig a good sized hole and water well - even if it's raining. To help them, prune back the stems to reduce the leaves as their roots will be unable to take up sufficient water to replace that being transpired through the pores of the leaves. Water throughout the summer and if they survive the summer, they will be alright for years.
