Caterpillars on rose

    What are these cheeky little caterpillars? they'd already eaten one rose leaf spray and started on this one when I found them!

    Oooh! I just picked one of those off my Albertine. I love this site, it answers all your questions before you've even thought to ask them :D

    Don't know what they are but I caught 2 nibbling away at a year old Weigela cutting today.

    No, it wasn't ONE of those, It was a whole tribe! We had very heavy rain and wind that evening and now they've gone. I liked the way they had all stopped nibbling and sat with their back ends up later in the evening.

    Probably sawfly caterpillars

    Mmmm I know those well and they eat quickly - nearly stripped one of my roses before I spotted them [​IMG]

    Pardon for this being such a late post to the thread. Thought I would just say that although there is a lot of leaf munching going on here, which is a right pain in the proverbial/s, the photography is marvellous and its almost a pleasure to see this leaf munching going on.

    All I got was sorry the Gallery is switched off
    while they update the software..Hey Ho have to wait til after the holiday I suppose, thanks any way.
