potato planting

    hi all

    i have just potted up 4 differant kinds of spuds in my greenhouse (trying to get an early start)

    i have another 60 seed potatos to plant which will be placed in another 12 pots

    now what i want to do is plant another 4 pots up every 3 weeks which will take me to the 20 something of may i want to do this so i have a supply of spuds and not loads in one go

    my question is will this be ok or will the seed potatos go funny waiting that long ?

    im planting
    maris bard early
    Ulster Chieftain early
    Charlotte early
    International Kidney 2nd early/early maincrop

    As long as the potatoes are kept cool and dry you might get away with it. You wont know unless you try though, will you? [​IMG] [​IMG]

    this is true david think i will give it a go and if they start to go funny i will just pot them all up straight away.

    Seed potatoes will keep for months with no problem. If they are sprouting, give them light so you don't get long white sprouts. As soon as you plant the potato, it will start to rot anyway and they still grow.so even if your seed potatoes are going soft there should be no problem.
