Will I need to remove the male flowers any advise appreciated.

    Hi Cattwoman25
No I bought a selection of different types on ebay they came in a clear bag with only the names on. I did grow some called Crystal Apple from the same batch and they were great fun like furry Apple sized Cucumbers.
I think I will keep them in the Greenhouse because now I think about it the Crystal Apples did not affect the Burpless Tasty Green before when I grew them together.
    Thanks For the reply

    Dave

    Hi Lisa

Yes I love trying different seeds but I have limited room at home for experimenting and the allotments are all taken, I am on the list but was told it may be 5-6 years before I hear from them. I find that dissapointing as some allotments are not used but paid for. I always get worried that the seeds won't grow then panic and sow more then they all come up. Still this is what makes it fun for me.
I can't believe it 14 Cucumbers already!! mine are the size of half a pencil so it won't be long before I am eating mine, I was a bit late sowing seeds this year.

    hi dave

i have just sent off for some turnips off ebay and more peas im just trying to think of things to grow at the moment ,

fingers crossed you get your allotment i would love one too but would never be at home  so try to grow as much as i can in my tiny garden and my conservatory is like a greenhouse .

its my first yr growing fruit and veg and have been blessed so far,

have you grown anything else ?

my borders are full of pots with toms , peas , radish , peppers, chillis, potatos , strawberrys ,spring onions , runner beans , sprouts oh and in between all them i managed fit some plants :D just about im so excited to start over again next year i think im getting sader as i get older .

sounds like your cucumbers won't be long i started another off 4 weeks ago as my big plant seems to be slowing down abit and i have no idea how long they fruit for with this been my first go.

right im starting to dribble on so will shut up five [IMG]

    Hi Lisa
I grow: Garlic, Tomatoes, Cabbage, Cucumbers, Radish, Lettuce, Chillies, Courgette, Peas (first time),Runner Beans, Spring Onions oh and a Pumpkin for the kids!!! I did work as a fisherman so I grow Tomatoes & Cucumbers in fishboxes in the greenhouse these are perfect although they can dry out quickly in the sunny weather. I turfed the garden when the children started to get mobile a few years ago and they use it for football, cricket & gymnastics among other games so the veg do get a rough ride in the tiny corner I have recently allowed myself.
I will slowly gain back space for vegetables as the children grow up, they are now 9 & 12 and very active. I have not bought any seeds from ebay for a while I am ok if I don't start but if I start I seem to get carried away with it. Gosh and you thought you could go on.

well i have been good this week untill i had an email from thompson and morgan this morning HALF PRICE SEEDS  so yes click click click half hour later i bagged myself £30 pounds worth for next yr it did come out at just under £60 but thought i would behave myself so deleted half plus other my half would of buried me under the patio spending that much in 1 go,

might be worth you having a look as they are half price could'nt get them that cheap off ebay.
