Just inside the Authoritarian Left wing.

    The Political Compass

    Economic Left/Right: -1.38
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.10

Reasnably acurate, In real life Im a UKIP voter. Some what of a compromise as I do have some very right wing views on certain isues but these are not enough to sway me towards the undemocratic farr right politics eg BNP with which I have moral objections ie death penalty.

Not sure what that makes me, not sure I care really.
Once you start analising yourself and puting yourself in a pidgeon hole, you start altering your opinion to conform to how you would like to see yourself.
    But thats just me. [IMG]

You could look at the historic figures and just hope you are not the same as somebody like Hitler or Stalin. I think I am the opposite of Margaret Thatcher - thank god.

I have already forgotten my figures, but it was almost central. Fractionally authoritarian, and fractionally liberal.

However I am always wary of some of these types of question. Sometimes they are put as choices, like inflation or unemployment, when I suspect that it would be more accurate to say that one is the cause of the other.

This format was originally used by a Thatcherite psychologist called Hans Eysenk in the 60s. It was pointed out then that what questions are asked and what weighting is given to them is purely up to the designer of the questions. Having said that, it is a rough guide and guaranteed to break the ice at parties. (If a 'total fascist' and a 'total anarchist' don't end up in blows that is).
