I'm all for a bit of fun but I am getting a bit fed up with the constant banging of fireworks everynight untill all hours.
I thought there was a law about using them.
They have started yet again tonight.
I wouldn't mind but they are so loud

There is one thing governments are good at Lyn, it's passing laws. Unfortunately they can't enforce them. I won't get political by saying that this Govt. is exceptionally good at passing laws it can't enforce. So I won't say it. ;)

We (so far) are having our first firework free night for about 3 weeks. Maybe they have run out of money. But in case they haven't ..please...sssssshhhh!

My poor old dog is so afraid she won't go outside after dark any more.
She is 12 and deaf, she must feel the vibration from the fireworks because she can't hear a thing.
We were in the park today and a man was flying one of those big kites.
    She was terrified.
The poor thing is turning into a nervous wreck.
    :(

We have had the first night without fireworks for what seems forever. I don't think the dog is terrified of them but she goes into 'protect family at all costs mode'
Which involves charging around going "woof, woof , woof" As she is a big German Shepherd it is deafening. We can't blame the dog but it has really been getting on our nerves.
I tried that massage thing they described on TV and Poppy enjoyed it very much but she kept breaking off to shout at even more fireworks. Some moron set off a really loud one off at 2 am the other morning. I know where I would like to set one off , right up their a**e! I found the nose cone of one on my patio the other day. It looked like something you would use to take out a tank with!

We usually hear them around here into the new year, shops must be still selling them on the quite, still cann't get my head round the fact that they can sell these potetially lethal devices to any lunatic that wants the thrill of pyrotechnics loud bangs and mischief making.

    Hi everyone [IMG]

I was walking the dogs Saturday night and found a poor cocker spaniel puppy in a terrible state. He had poo all down his legs and ran right up to myself and the dog's. I was going to bring him home but eventually found a man walking about calling for him.

I reluctantly handed the poor pup over, reluctantly because what the hell was the guy thinking on letting a poor wee pup out on it's own, let alone that the world appeared to be exploding around it

That poor pup is going to have serious hang-up's regarding lound noises. I told the guy he would need de-sensitizing in regard to noise and gave him my card, i even said i would help unpaid, i hope he calls i really do [IMG] :(

On the subject of fireworks, being a dog lover i would be far happier to just see organised displays, there seem to be fireworks going off any time of year. To be honest i prefer the idea of organised displays whether i had dogs or not.

Obviously, I'm in a minority of one. We use fireworks to celebrate things, birthdays etc. My only opinion is that they shouldn't be set off after 9 p.m.

    Caj,

Before 9pm is reasonable i think and if your neighbours next door have animals you can earn a few brownie points by letting them know prior to a few bangers :D

I'm talking loud explosions that set off house and car alarms.
Shake the house and wake you from your sleep at 2 in the morning, and go on and on night after night.
Yes we had them again last night.
What makes these people think it's O.K to be so anti social to terrorize the local wildlife and pets and drive me crazy
    Ban them all.
