I had to take my g-daughter to the ear hospital (a long-standing problem). Her mum couldn't go because of a dose of the 'flu. The doctor said that the problem was solved and she didn't have to go back again. We stopped off at Toy'R''Us and I got her a small present. When I asked her what she wanted to do next she said "a walk in the forest". The Ling is in full bloom with a fantastic scent. We found the 1st mushroom of the season. She walked as close to the horses as she dared (and thought she was very brave). She showed me some trefoil. We got back home and she made a Birthday card for her Mum. When she went to bed she said "Thank you Grandad". Does it get any better than that?

Thanks, pip. Yeah, she is a gem. We'll see what happens when she goes to Senior school, in a few years time. ;)
