:D Now that would have been special!...As a kid I used to take home cured bacon and eggs from the coup down to the local Station and the men would cook it on the shovel in the fire box..on condition I took enough for all of us.. [IMG]

Gorgeous, Pal, we love these beasts as well. Lovely photos, thank you.

We had Quainton in Bucks just near us.

Obviously not the Toddington we know in Bedfordshire!

steam trains always frightened me all the noise and hissing and so forth.

I once played in a concert at the York railway museum amongst all the old trains and that was a great occasion as I could enjoy them when they were all dead! Some of the carriages were spectacularly kitted out.

we are close to the Pickering - Grosmont steam line and when I rode, we often used to have to cross the railway line, a very scary thing to do on horse back.

Oh, we've been to Toddington - lovely place. The guys spent their time checking out the steam engines and us girls spent our time in the GC next door, so everyone was happy! Lovely.
