It's not so much the mast, it's the 5 band Quad on top that stands out a bit.
I've got another smaller one on the side of the house but that is painted a tasteful white!

HAven't got one!! But a pic of our garage would give you all plenty of opportunity to nag me about all the stuff in it!! No, it's not a collection, it's mostly stuff from my aunt's house, including a bed!! No chance of us getting a car in it, although if it was empty we could easily get 3 in there!! :D

Ever thought about car booting the stuff dendrobium?
Our garage is in a similar state, but it's all our own stuff. We cleared out tons last year and made a goodly sum and will be doing it again soon.
Luckily we live about half a mile from what is probably the biggest car boot site up here. Great place for buying garden tools and machinery.

Pete, the Teak block needs a craftsman to work on it ;) If I could think what to use it for it would be a rustic construction..that's for sure :D

Paladin, that block of teak in your shed, must weigh a ton, just a thought, how about turning it into a sculpture, rub down with teak oil, and use it as a pedestal to a large exotic plant indoors?

Like your shed, it could be quite a talking point!
    :D ;) ;)

What a delightful little treasure trove you have there Paladin! Is that a sewing machine I spy? Is it the old fashoined type with no foot pedal, just turn the handle?
I like the bit where you say you 'stir the memories' in there, lovely! [IMG]

Delightful indeed, and sorry getting back to that block of teak, I know just how hard that wood is to work on, but really, if its got a flat top and bottom to it, then just use it as it is! Would make a great base to an indoor plant. Mind you, moving it must be an issue, care to estimate how much it weighs? ;)

Apart from growing tropicals at work I don't have a collecting hobby as some of you have so I am missing out, particularly Pal's hoard. Bird watching is one and keeping tropical fish and amphibians(down to one terrarium and one aquarium now)are the others. [IMG]

DAG..it is blinking heavy! Gotta be 1cwt.
See what you mean about plant stand but Mrs Pals' heart is even harder than the Teak!! and no way would she be shifted from her orders that it will NOT be coming in the house!
Might end up as the seat at the top of the garden I'm looking for.

After all those years seasoning in your shed, it seems a shame to put it outside in the elements.
I bet someone with a lathe could turn you a nice couple of bowls out of it.

I met a chap with a small workshop and tried to sell it to him but no luck but he is asking around for me.
However...I also have a 3ft square x 1/2"board of mahogany, also very old,and have commissioned him to make a jewellery box for my wife for our 30th wedding anniversary next year. Cost?..£80!
    (Don't tell anyone..it's a secret!) ;)

You men are worse than women with your hoardings. My man goes "tip scratting" he actually takes a shopping list!

anyway last year he brought back some ferns and a big conifer, I have just planted up a new fern bed in my garden and had this dreadful thought - supposing this big plant from the tip is brackon .........AAaahhhhhh Tell me its not and how to spot the difference PLAESE!
