I planted three dutch hyacinths in a 9inch pot last year in multipurpose they poked their noses through the surface for an inch or two then stopped growing. Is it that they were not planted deep enough or too close together? Any thoughts?

Were they being grown for indoor use or outdoor use? And were they treated ot untreated?

Well, if you are growing for indoor use you need plants that have been heat treated. If you use untreated, or outdoor, Hyacinths you will have problems growing them indoors.

Nick, untreated need to be planted straight in the ground. Treated need to be potted up, and grown indoors.
