We have grown some sweetcorn and courgette seedlings under cover - is it a good idea to put them out into the garden yet or do you have to wait incase of frosts? We live in the Liecestershire area if this makes any difference.
    Any advise would be appreciated.

    Hi Oli,

I planted out my sweetcorn seedlings two weeks ago and while I was fairly sure there would be no more frosts, the main problem I had was not hardening them off (they were grown in the greenhouse) before planting out. They suffered a lot but now seem to be "getting away nicely". My courgette seedlings are still in the greenhouse, but I'd be happy hardening them off now and getting them in the beds.

    Hi Oli,
I dont know much about the weather in the Liecestershire area but as Matty Boy says its the hardening off that counts for a lot.
Dont rush it, a couple of weeks to acclimatise to outdoor conditions can stop a check in growth, which is in some tender plants a real problem and can put them back quite a bit before growth starts again.
