Ok, I know this might be a bit of a long shot, but I planted a clematis in my mum's garden about 10-12 years ago; it's still going strong and always has people asking what variety it is. Thing is it was off a sale bed and had no label; here's the description:

    - It is blue/purple in colour
    - It is a double or semi-double flower, as the flower ages before loosing its petals the centre (bushy double bit) becomes more prominant as the outside petals fade.
    - I'm pretty sure it's a group 2 plant as it only ever needs a light trim to tidy it up or remove unwanted growth.
    - It flowers from late May to June and again in late summer (fewer flowers)
    - The flower size is somewhere between the large flowered hybrids and say the montannas.

Any help would be greatly recieved; sorry there's no pic at this time....

    Thanks :thumb:

Ok, got some pics emailed over and its a double flower rather than semi-double....you can see the centre at the moment looks like a bud but as the outer petals fade this is what opens like a secondary flower??

Hi Simbad I have just googled it and it could be that one; although there seems to be several variations under the same name.

I found one picture that looks very similar but others had large single petals round the 'double' bit and yellow centres as opposed to the whitish coloured one?
