            There's just so much stuff you could post - what a body of work! And he's just such a one--off original. Recently I was watching this clip of him doing 'Heroes' live and thinking that it could be a disaster - he's right on the edge all the time. With anyone else, it would be hopelessly overblown and camp. But somehow he not only gets away with it but turns it into something wonderful. Love it.

                We used to be rivetted to Top of the Pops in the early 80s, waiting for this song to come on, just so we could get a fleeting glimpse of David Bowie's bottom in the closing shots. What a beautiful man he was - and probably still is. Although the song certainly isn't one of his best.
