From what I can gather based on my own very casual observations, the rental market is currently taking advantage of the fact that mortgages are a bit difficult to get hold of at the moment. I.e. rent is stupidly priced for what you get.

That said, there are still plenty of houses to rent.

It all depends on what you want, and where.

Not on my watch you won't.:paladin:

Have you put yourself on the council list? I know it seems like they will never find a place for you but as long as you are on the list and you go to them before you have to leave your current accomodation they are obliged to find you somewhere, even if it is B&B.

It helps if you can present them with an eviction notice from your current landlord, or even if it is a letter from the mate you are staying with saying he wants you to quit the premesis on a particular date.

Like I said, before that date, the day after and they have no more responsibility and will cross you off the council list.

            Round and round

My mum was like a lot of mums and had a saying for every topic and one of her's was "What goes round comes round" and when you think about it not long ago everyone expected to have "Now" the same things it took the older generation a life time to get ie a car at 17? a house without paying a deposit, money to spend when all you really had was a plastic card,

That was the so called good old days or was it ?
We're now coming around again and the good old bad days are coming in fast, if you dont have the money, you dont get the goods, And the rents will cost a fortune if your lucky enough to have a job in the first place.:rolleyespink:

Hope you find somewhere suitable H. There's always your hen house, you can squeeze in there.

No, i'm almost homeless too & i'm thinking about getting the hell out of the UK H.

No second home stuff there, i'm serious.

I'm also serious about my earlier promise. You won't go homeless on my Watch if I can help it.

You are part of the GC family now, like it or not, and we don't leave a member behind.
