Just a reminder that its against forum rules to bypass the profanity filter.

I know the mods turn a blind eye to the mild ones, but this is a family forum and I know we have children as young as eight reading the posts, so keep it clean please Ladies & Gentlemen:dbgrtmb:

I'm saying this now in case any new members decide to bypass with seriously offensive words, just a pre empitive post.

For those of you who are not sure how the filter works, if you type something rude, it will be replaced with Treetreetree or similar.

If it does that then please edit your post immediately to read something more acceptable.

Do not try to replace a word like Bother with B*other, if you see what I mean:snork:

I'm not moaning or having a go at anyone, just keeping it clean and friendly for our younger members:ccheers:

I would suggest, when a rude word is used the triple use of the word tree does not mean / convey much, especially to someone who is new. How about changing it to actually read "a rude word has been used" That way everyone can see what has been done.

... or just 'profanity'. That sounds much more exciting. But there I go, carping on. Dai, where are you?

Well, when a new comer uses a swear word, WG, and the "treetreetree" substitutes it, it makes them swear more..........which makes more trees and we can make a forest! How green and conservationist is that!!:snork::roflol::yes: Ah, Ah, no swearing now!:snork:

I tend to learn most of my more up to date swear words from the local 8 yr olds as they pass my gate on their phones.

Not heard one say treetreetree yet.
Is it alright, can I say treetreetree?

I think "Right Tree'd off" puts the point across perfectly:biggrin: We'd all know what you meant without upsetting anyone:snork:

Thanks for all your input, like I said, not having a moan or dig at any individual, but if we let things slide then it makes it difficult if someone does go over the top:dbgrtmb:

I seem to remember Zig made a joke early on in his GC career on the lines of 'something of GC's quality could only be funded by, er, (paraphrasing here) East European ladies who are no better than they should be'. Try explaining that to an eight year old. :snork:

What's this about Eastern European ladies? Where? I knew one once. Natalia she was called. She was Polish. We became friends for a brief time way before I was married.

I'm sure Natalia was very nice, Clueless. Zig was talking about some ladies who were involved in a very ancient profession to do with social work.
