Winter Solstice.

    :) So today is the shortest day,that means that from now on we will gradually get more daylight each day......Thank goodness.
    I am not liking twice as much night as day, In the summer it's the other way round......roll on lol.

    Hi Roders,I had forgotten that it was today,the time is just flying as usual:oops::p We always notice that by the end of January it definetly starts to be later getting dark although we find that after today the difference is only slight:D

    What me and Mr Kandy often do especially if we are out in the car, as the day draws to a close is to comment that it is such and such time and it is still daylight instead of saying it is such and such time and it is getting dark.We call it reverse physcology,so we don't feel too down that it is really getting dark instead of still being daylight.It works for us and makes the dark evenings that tad bit shorter but don't know about what others feel about these dark evenings:p

    I enjoy most the time when the Spring flowers are out in flower,that to me is the start of a brand new growing year:)

    its pretty bright here anyway, cos we've got snow and the sun shines off it.

    It certainly is the Solstice roders, A magical day... It certainly was when it started to snow here around midnight last night & carried on for a few hours & we woke to A snow covered landscape on the Winter Solstice....! Now that is magical...!:)

    just returned yesterday from Arbroath. it was a present from my girls,a long weekend away in a cottage on the seafront. lovely cottage ,handy for shops . lovely bar/ restaurant next door. But i have never felt so cold in my life!!. at one point,( according to some locals)
    the temperature was - 8. with the cold sea wind blowing in from scandinavia it felt more like
    - 15 :thumb:. the wife and i went shopping ,purchased 2 bottles of drambuie,
    never felt the cold after a few glasses :wink: great stuff. music.

    Oooh woo hoo.. Drambuie will solve many a problem ?Music... So sorry though that the weather & temps put a damper on your weekend Music... A drop more drambuie should do it though...!!! :D Good to see you back then...! :D

    Yeah. Just love the solstice. It means it stops getting darker.:yho:
    'Course it doesn't get lighter very quickly:( but at least it stops getting darker:). Time to start thinking about what to put in the propogator:wink:
