Planting

    We have a couple of bare root tea roses to go into the garden but the bed where we want them is not yet "constructed" as such.

    Would it be okay to pot them up..then move to the new bed next spring?

    Hi Steve,

    That is what I would do but don't bring them into a greenhouse unless severe or prolonged frosts are predicted. They will be fine.

    Yes - I am sure that's the right thing to do, but put them in a deep pot to leave room for the roots. If you have ever noticed, roses at garden centres are invariably sold in deeper pots than other plants. Then when you replant them there is very little disturbance to the roots.

    Thank you, good job you mentioned the no greenhouse bit...as I would have done that.
