    I posted this as Evening Primrose but I think I was wrong,as I have seen evening primrose since and it doesn't look anything like this,could someone confirm this and is it a perennial :)

    This was when it was in flower and as it is now

    It looks like Oenothera which does belong to the evening primrose family and is a perennial.

      Its Not looking too healthy in the photo but it is perennial, Oenothera missouriensis

        Yup, I reckon it was a Evening Primrose. It is a perennial, but it looks like something has attacked the roots below:dunno::scratch::snork:

        Its just gone to sleep early for the winter;) Its well enough under the soil,it wil bounce back next year,with a bit of TLC ,I,m moving it to its new winter home tomorrow:dbgrtmb::)

        Depending on which variety you have, it could be a perennial or a biennial.

          I agree it looks like O. missouriensis, its a sprawling perrenial plant.
          Very different from O. biennis, which tends to be a biennial, forming a rosette the first year then flowering the following summer at about 3ft or more.
