    Hi

A couple of years ago I took these pictures into my local garden centre and they tried their best to ID the shrub and thought it was an Enkiathus, so I duly bought one.

Two years on and it isnt - or at least isnt the same variety if it is one.

I dont have an in flower pic but they are pink/purple in colour and very vibrant.

Its grown to about a metre in length and doesnt need much pruning.

Flowers around May if I remember rightly.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Rich

Looks like Azalea to me Rich, May flowering and vibrant pink would match that.

Thanks Scillonian, you maybe right, I have lots of Azaleas in the garden but non with such small leaves so I guess that threw me off the scent.

Merle, yeah I think so, to be honest Im going from last May/June memory but they could well be. What are your thoughts if they are?

      Thanks

      Rich

      Whoa!
That is one giant jump from it being an Azalea to saying it is Azalea 'Hardijzer’s Beauty'

Without seeing the flowers it is impossible to say which one it could be.
Azaleas all come under the family of Rhododendron.

With small leaves you have a choice of 100's that it might be.
In some the flowers are a different shape.

Glendoick in Scotland sell many rare and unusual ones.

But equally it could be a bog common one, grown in Holland.
Often sold in shops around Mothering Sunday and just tagged Azalea!

I grow many differerent Rhodo's, evergreen and deciduous.
Huge ones and dwarf ones. Species, hybrids and named cultivars!
Even when in flowers you would need a real expert to say which one it might be.

There are way too many varieties of Rhododendron/Azaleas to try and hazard a guess. Even if you provided a photo of the flowers it would be hard to do. Just post pics for us to enjoy when she comes into bloom again :blue thumb:
