    Hi,

What a fab forum! Thank you to Silver Surfer for being so quick in answering my first post yesterday. Now a couple more challenges for you all.

Again these two are a bit out of control and need some shaping / pruning. But before I go hacking, an ID and some pruning advice would be gratefully received.

Any ideas please folks? I'm sure some of these are really simple ones, but as I said, I'm new to this green fingered game!

    Thanks again,

    James

    Hi Silver Surfer.

Thanks for this, I think it's definitely a Berberis, but its dark red branch makes me think it's not Stenophylla ?

As for 3 there was lots of Hypericum St Johs Wort in this border as ground cover which I've cut right back. This one is quite a big bigger, but I suppose could be another member of the group?

    2. There are many sp of Berberis. But not that many with narrow needle like leaves.
A pic later to show what the flowers look like might help with an accurate id.

    3. Hypericum come in different sizes. Some such as Hypericum Hidcote are taller.
