Didn't know it was a bit toxic, only put a few leaves in.

I wish I could find a breadmaker with a circular pan so my bread would look more homemade.

I just use a Pyrex casserole dish, not found a bread tin big enough to make a decent sized loaf.

Its a common misunderstanding, but I'm reliably informed that the curry plant is not (supposedly) edible. There is no doubt at all that it is not curry though.

Here's an article explaining the common error, but this isn't where I got my info from.
        http://www.motherearthliving.com/gardening/the-real-curry-plant.aspx

Wiki has this to say on it:

I must admit I'm finding it hard to back up my claims of its toxicity. I've read it in several sources, but everything on the internet seems to be saying 'its not really curry but it wont kill ya'.

Mines been out in the -17c of the past few winters & don't look too bad for it.

Is that a wild geranium of some sort in there Zigs? I have them growing in my garden and I just leave them be, because I think they are nice.

After I gave up smoking, one seeded itself in my outdoor ashtray (which is actually a plant thingy nailed to the wall). I took it as symbolic of something, though I'm not quite sure what.

Looks delicious Zigs, I make a soda bread with nuts and pineapple sage which is yummy with a poached egg.

It is Dave, Herb Robert, Geranium robertianum. The original Geranium.

Smells a lot but I love it.

Could be symbolic of you not stubbing a cigarette out on it anymore:biggrin:

Cherub, you make the dough under the "dough" setting of your bread machine. Then, when that is complete, you take the dough OUT of the BM, pat it, shape it, mark it with "B" and put in the oven (for "Baby and me!" :heehee: )

                Simples ;)

It was used as a "moth repellent" (in addition to being used, traditionally, to eradicate "musty" smells).

Perhaps that is where you are recalling a sense of "toxicity"? :dunno:

I definitely remember reading of mild poisoning, with cases ranging from vomiting to brief hospital treatment in the worst cases, but I can find no such references now.

I reckon Zigs has been out in the TTH and modified history and changed the evolution of the plant.
