It's because you're stood in roughly the same place....it's all to do with angles.

If you could run faster than the speed of light, which is only about 186,000 miles per second, you can get to the end of the rainbow and thus collect the gold.

No, they'd deny his existence and try to dispose of him. You can't have someone achieving something as significant as faster than light travel without somehow the US taking some credit.

Imagine the headlines. "NASA said its impossible, but Dorset man smashes faster than light travel - on foot".

It's something to do with the angle of the sunlight to the viewer etc. Someone else standing at a different position but a few yards away will see it end at a different place :) It's all quite specific with the angle etc, quite mathematical, rainbows! :)

We came out of a pub in Rowsley one afternoon, a rainbow terminated on someone's Peugeot 206 in the car park! Hardly a pot of gold

At the rate they are going, he could buy the US and have most of his gold left over :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

My pot of gold was hidden underneath the 206. I was going to retrieve it after the tax man had left. I wasn't counting on the owner driving it away in the meantime.
