Got the tree, now I can start feeling Christmassy?

If I were you, I'd put off feeling Christmassy for another week or so yet. You want to be able to stay the course, after all.

Then hurl yourself in with gay abandon, eating and drinking everything in sight and humming along with Noddy Holder whilst in the supermarket, until Boxing Day. Therefter rapidly scale down your Christmassyness while you plan your next holiday, rack up a load of credit card debt on the sales and get over your NYE hangover. Save a final burst of Festive Goodwill for a bit of a party to eat up remaining boxes of Ferrero Rocher on 12th night.

Then relax for 10 months of blessed non-festivity.

 

Getting our tree on Friday, could feel christmassy by about the 20th as thats when I finish for 2 weeks.
Hoping the weather stays dry and I can get a few more jobs done in the garden.

 

I thought that is what skimmers did :-)

Sounds like you are doing just fine!

There's a first time for everything.

There's bound to be loads. There's also bound to be 2 " of tidy snow on the ground, with plenty of robins. You won't be able to hear the carol singers for the sound of bells ringing. Don't forget to throw a penny to the little match girl.

 

You will be telling me you did not live on tinned sausages or Spam next, and did not have to walk about on cases of tins
