    Hi all,
The BF has bought a Mira Eco showerhead to fit onto my rather ancient Triton electric shower. However, on reading the small print it says that this head is not suitable for an electric shower and should not be used with one. He wants to fit it anyway but I have not permitted it.

Not much info on the internet. Something to do with flow, it appears.

Does anyone know anything about this issue?

Not me, I can't think of a good reason why it shouldn't be used. Is there a helpline you could ring for advice?

The Triton puts out 10lt water per minute, The Miro eco Shower head only accepts 6Lt PM
Due to how it works to provide pretend pressure, so I reckon you would have a build up of back pressure and may damage the Triton

This is a water-saving shower head that works by mixing air with the water, retaining the feeling of ‘power’ from the spray but using less water.

Why it's not worth it: It reduced the flow of water by 30-40%, and the spray from the shower was noticeably more aerated, but this made it noisy

Just my own idea after reading the bold print taken from the internet
I am not a plumber, though I have worked with some very high water pressure leaks before

This makes sense, Jack. I'm trying to get him to take it back to B&Q but he says it's past the 28 day limit.

I think you may have to be carefull as a shower heats the flow of water, if you slow the amount of water going through it may get the water to hot (this is me just thinking not sure)

I was thinking along those lines when I started reading this thread (having installed an electric shower complete with all the plumbing and the electrics myself before it was made illegal unless you're a qualified electrician or get Building Regs approval and even then I think you might still need to get it inspected by an electrician after you've done the work).

Anyway, I seem to recall something about minimum mains water pressure, and if located in such an area with low'ish pressure (but above the minimum), I wondered if fitting a head that restricts flow could cause a problem.

Madahhalia " on reading the small print it says that this head is not suitable for an electric shower and should not be used with one."

There must be a reason this is on the box, I think it is as I explained THOUGH FOR SAFETY
I would go onto a plumbing Forum and ask then you are sure

I feel sure BNQ will CHANGE it or give a gift voucher, but not cash back, cash back is within 28 days

          Take care

State secret, the depth gauge is also hidden only those that need to know know
It is to prevent cleaning of underpants, as water is scarce :-)

The BF has managed to get B&Q to take it back. I probably need a whole new shower bathroom any how. Thanks for the info, there's not much on the net, I can always rely on capable forum friends for technical advice, thanks!
