I know this is a bit of a long shot, but, I noticed this today and when I got closer, noticed there were three sprouting up.
My initial thought is, they may be some kind of bulb? :noidea:

I know there isn't any leaf, or flower, to go by, but wondered if the brown parts on the stem would help with an ID?

Looks like some sort of Aroid.
My guess would be an Arisaema.

Once the leaves have unfurled, and it flowers (hopefully) it will be eaier to make a positive ID

@Sheal - well, from what I have read, the "pong" part allegedly smells like a wet/dirty dog ... so, I'm guessing Ozzy with adore it and want to play with it :doggieshmooze:
Echo is an indoor cat, so he has no opinion (unless I tell him what his opinion is :cat-kittyandsmiley: )
@longk - those pictures you posted: are they from your garden? The plants look quite tall!

So, I see a fern behind it and is that a cordyline? (Can you guess I'm already thinking ahead to companion planting ideas? :heehee: )
