I have recently moved into a new build and i have a Oak and a silver birch tree in my garden, reading up about tapping a silver birch tree for the sweet water has got me curious, i love sweet coconut water, if i could get something like this from my birch tree for free that would be fabulous!

just want to know people;s thoughts on this and experience really, thanks :)

Made wine from it once, was a bit disappointing.

You can only do it as the sap is rising in the spring and it's vital to plug the hole afterwards.

Even carved the funnel to do it this spring but left it too late

Was going to boil it down to make a version of maple syrup :)

yes by the sounds of it im way too late to harvest the water, will try this next year, how much do you think i could get from one tree, and how long can you store the water for?

i love the sound of making maple syrup too!
