    Hi,

I'm completely new to gardening and I recently bought a pittosporum silver queen for my patio (everything i currently grow is in a container). I planted it up with bonemeal in the compost in a large container and it seemed to be fine but i've noticed in the last week or so it's been losing a large amount of leaves from the lower and inner section of the tree. I can't see any signs of disease but i'm not sure what i'm looking for. I do feed it regularly with a mixture of miracle grow and tomorite and i keep the soil moist at all times. Could it be it's just not suitable for a container, or I've got the wrong type of compost?

Any help would be very much appreciated - I have no idea what I'm doing but i'm desperate to save it!

    Thanks

IT sounds like lack of water P), so give a good drenching and make sure to water it very well ( at leat 2 pints) weekly, more hwne it it is very warm.

Even when you think it is moist it usually isn't.

I think you are over feeding it. Why on earth are you mixing Miraclegrow with Tomorite? Dump the Tomorite for goodness sake, and only use Miraclegrow once a week:thumb:.

I agree wiuth David on this point-the absolute worst thing with new to gardening is overfeeding-I am only telling you this from experience.

    Drench it.
