Don't mind a bit of Motown me. Dunno if this is strictly Motown, but certainly has the vibe...

I quite like The Isley Brothers...

        Hi Freddy,

I don't know what you've piste there as on my phone they're just big black squares

I agree, the Isley Brothers are one of my favourites :)

I love Tamla Motown and northern soul. I was into this music in the 70s and 80s and also went to the all-nighters and all-dayers. I also went to see the Supremes and Junior Walker and the All Stars. Them were the days. Even now, I put the old CDs on whilst doing the hoovering and ironing lol

I like her music and thought she did a wonderful job of playing Billie Holliday in 'Lady Singas The Blues'. :blue thumb:

She's actually a very nice person. Although I wasn't kissed by her, we've had lunch with her. She was a near neighbour of some friends of ours and they had been invited to lunch when we were staying with them. So Diana said 'bring your friends along'. :heehee:

Ignore me, I am in one of those moods tonight. Perhaps it is because I am off-piste as its a weekday; still, hopefully I will get to open a bottle of Bacardi at the weekend......

                    Hi Sheal,

Jimmy Ruffin was fantastic. " What becomes of the broken hearted" was one of the first records I ever bought when it was rereleased in 74 and it was an even bigger hit then than in 66 when it originally came out.

I'm sitting here thinking.....I don't remember ever buying any Motown music, not even the Jacksons, :doh:but there again it wasn't really my era I was into rock big style, late 60's and early 70's. :)

I used to buy them all and I was lucky really cuz from about 74/5 onwards there was a big revival and a lot of the 60's ones were all rereleased so I got to buy all the ones I'd missed first time around.
