Everyone here seems so handy I was wondering what you've repaired, modified lately, with your own two hands and brain power.

    Anyone?

I am one of those people that always seems to be mending/making/installing things. A couple of weeks ago I installed the LED mood lighting in the living room, this week I fixed the lock on the outhouse door, yesterday I serviced the vacuum cleaner and gave it a bath (yes, a bath), and I am due to have a couple of 10w LED PIR floodlights delivered which is the next project - one for the alley between the kitchen and the outhouse and one for the driveway.

Currently at the planning stage are my raised beds that I will hopefully get round to making next year, and I am toying with the idea of making a compost heap somewhere....

EDIT - and I have a friends TV coming my way tomorrow to be repaired. I usually have electronics lurking around the place

I've got to take down all of my dc ceiling fans and clean them up to store ready for the spring. I've got to fix one of the drawers in the refrigerator.

A friendship, but it's a rocky path they have laid. If I fall it's unimportant, but it would be nice to stay on it.

Good thing I decided to do some sorting in the cellar. Just discovered one of my fluorescent lights isn't working. Guess I'll have to take the ballast apart. I'm not crazy about working with ac power.... next avatar may have straighter hair..:pcthwack:

Make sure you turn that AC off before you start @CanadianLori

I think I have made a diagnosis on my friends TV - now the real fun begins, sourcing the part......

Just repaired a TV stand - needed two (2) 10mm wooden dowels. I ordered a packet of 5 on Ebay for £1.10 , they sent me a packet of 100 ! At my rate of use a 200 year supply :blue thumb:
The TV stand is as good as new now - just given it away an Freecycle .

Sort of have fixed that refrigerator drawer. Most likely will need to get a new one though.

Got to add some bits to one of the cold frames but may have to wait for a sunny day. I'm not in the mood to play out there when it's damp and chilly.

                      Not sure if this counts?

I've just fixed both the side gate, and main gate to our property. They were both sticking to the point of being very difficult to hang, so I readjusted the hinges, so that they close freely now.

About to finish my cuppa, and then mend one of the dog beds, where Madame has ripped a hole ...

Replaced the side fill valve on my toilet for a new one :-)

Youtube was wonderful is helping to diagnose the problem.

At the weekend, I de-noised the back gate as it was keeping Mrs C and the dog awake when the wind was blowing (I have drugs, so hear not a lot ), and repaired a couple of sets of petulant LED Christmas lights before putting them up. The cable arrived for my new LED PIR floodlights, so I measured the cable run out and then rather than have an external junction box, I decided to solder the full length of new cable needed right into the light itself, which has a nice IP65 rated body to it.

Today, I whacked the light up in the alley between the house and outhouse, so now we get light just by walking in the back gate or out of the garden - 10w, so runs on next to no electricity, and a nice white bright light.

Just got to go through the same process for another one at the back of the driveway now....

I tried to mend my ways - but to no avail!

Mrs Shiney reckons it's because I don't have the right tools. She told me that I've lost my scruples. I've looked everywhere but can't find them
