Country Gardens - Upminster, Essex

Character and charm are what makes people return time and time again to Upminster Garden Centre. A stone’s throw from the M25, the centre lies equidistant between Brentwood and Upminster. Roots and Shoots was founded in the 1940s by Len Brothers. In 1987 the garden centre was destroyed by the 'Great Storm' and the site was extensively redeveloped. In 1996 the centre was sold to the Wyevale Garden Centre chain and then in 2006 was sold to Country Gardens. Despite humble beginnings it has evolved into the thriving centre it is today. The centre also boasts a busy and inviting restaurant which sells freshly prepared home-cooked meals as well as a wide range of hot and cold drinks.
