Some of the cotton yarn is very expensive, especially Scheepjes, only use that for my little animal clothes. I'm sure you'll soon have inspiration...

I coat the pebble with white Gesso to start, then base coat the back ground etc in good quality acrylics,finishing with 2 coats of yacht varnish....
