    A true story...

    It was discovered that a new road that was being built here would kill off the dormouse population. Not only because they have never learned the Highway Code and would get killed crossing the road, but also it would divide males from females. So, the local equivalent of the Highways Agency built this bridge...

    ...to cross the road. When finished, Rosa helenae and blackberries will be grown against it, allowing the dormouse to climb and cross safely.

    Heartwarming to think even small animals have a place here, is it not?
