Today with my wife, two young sons and my visiting family we watched our small but very well attended remembrance parade, marching amongst the small group of veterans (getting fewer as the years go by) was a young girl of 7 or 8 years old proudly wearing her dad's medals, the tears were clearly in her eyes, yet she so bravely held them back, her mum keeping pace with the parade must have been so proud of this little girl. It was a touching moment indeed :star:

What a brave and proud little girl Bilbo. It makes your heart ache for these youngsters doesn't it?

This is why I rarely go to remembrance day parades nowadays. Because I'm a bit soft, and it takes me all my effort to not show any emotion. I see the lads and lasses that I know have seen or will see things that I couldn't even imagine, and I just find it really overwhelming. Like a combination of immense pride, awe, and sorrow all mixed up together.
