I have never been into rose growing apart from the odd mini pot rose planted out and not really developing into much to shout apart.

I now have a couple good roses and are looking for the best advise for planting and care of:
One is from T&M and is a Margeret Merril +FT1 Bareroot

The other is a Hybrid Tea Rose Barkarole with its roots in a plastic bag with a little moist compost.

    My questions are:
How do I proceed at this time to get best out of these Plants?

    Thanks guys..:gnthb:

Hi Robert a lovely Roses:)I am in the process of adding a Sticky Thread with explicit planting Instructions for each Type of rose Hope this will be of some help to you:)

    Margaret Merrill
A quite superb floribunda rose. Vigourous and extremely fragrant with lovely pure white blooms on glossy green foliage, it makes an ideal cut flower.
    Height and Spread:75cm x 90cm(30in x 36in)

Elegant, semi-double, deep red blooms with a velvety sheen on the outer petals emerge from dark, purple-black buds from July to September. This is a well-branched, wide-spreading bush rose with handsome, finely-toothed, coppery-bronze young foliage that gradually matures to posses a large, glossy dark green appearance. Perfect for planting near an entrance or path, the majestic, shapely blooms carry a strong, sweet fragrance which is carried in the breeze

    Position: Full sun
Soil: A moist, yet well-drained, fertile and humus-rich soil
    Rate of Growth: Fast
    Flowering Period: July to September
    Flower Colour: Rich turkey-red
Other Features: The blooms make excellent cut flowers
    Hardiness: Fully hardy
Garden Care: Before planting, top-growth should be reduced to an outward facing bud approximately 15-20cm from the main stem and thick roots should be shortened to 25cm. It should be planted during a frost-free period and lots of well-rotted, organic matter should be incorporated into the planting hole. I Would recommend feeding with a balanced liquid fertiliser once a year in spring
    Eventual Height: 90cm
    Eventual Spread: 60cm

Splendid woo... I knew you would come up with the answers.
As its a might chilly and wet in the Yorkshire Vale today and is likely to be for the next few days I shall hold back on the planting.
