I googled and googled but cannot find an image or the name of the sign that people used to put on an Aga to declare it had something on the go.

I have a client who is very special to me and when she comes back from vacation to find my work complete, I also want to put a traditional sign on her Aga to make her smile. They've gone through hell with the builders and need something pleasant to happen.

She mentioned something about this and stupid me did not pay attention.

Anyone know what it said please?

There was a big old Aga in the farmhouse I was brought up in, it was alight all year round, same for all neighbour's farm kitchens. Never heard of a sign before, hope you can track one down.

The AGA is always hot but there was a sign to let you know that something was in it, cooking. Sorry I cannot remember what it said.

Yes, @Jocko that is how she made it sound. The way she talked, it was like it was something embroidered. Perhaps on a tea towel and hung on the handle?
Thank you for looking but she was referring to something "old style homey".
