I saw a hedgehog eating the cat food a couple of days ago, hope it survives, the last one I saw didn't last long.

Here's my feeding station, think that i have more than one, sometimes it's been moved around and the food has gone. Haven't got any pics of them, they come out when it's dark and my phone isn't very good with the dark.

This is the water bowl, yesterday most of the water had gone and very dirty with poo in it.

I use the plastic boxes, too, although I made brick tunnels with mine ( to prevent cats getting in ). The top of the bricks and the plastic boxes have tiles on to make it more difficult for them to be moved around. Could that be mice poo in the water bowl? Hogs do poo in water bowls but there's usually a lot of it :heehee: .

No it's hedgehogs, I put 2 house bricks at the front to stop cats but they don't seem to be interested in it, maybe because I put dried puppy food out instead of the tinned.

Delighted to find a hedgehog section. Here is a photograph of my hedgehog feeding station which i built in 2021.
One evening we had six different hogs visit us, two of which were juveniles with their mother!

Not sure but i think that the hedgehog had been around last night. It's been mild for a few days and all the food had gone but no droppings.

Hi. I was out in the now overgrown and wild garden yesterday at 9.15pm to set up the trail camera in a different area. Anyway, whilst I was there I heard distant rustling from adjacent land and the rustles got louder so I stood still, then finally the hedgehog I had only ever seen in black and white on the trail cam (as s/she only seemed to be visiting during the night or early hours of the morning) came through the hedgehog door I made in the fence last year and then walked past me and then into the garden rough to rustle for insects. . unfortunately I did not have my still camera with me at the time.

But here is the trail cam from the other morning where it shows little hedgey (I presume it is the same one) using the hedgehog hole to come into our garden. It actually looks bigger on cam as on this ocassion I set the camera on the ground facing the fence. HedgeTrailStill.jpg

Here is another one from the next night. Where the hedge just walked straight past the camera - again ignoring the hedgehog home I bought that has been left unused in the garden for almost 2 years now. But just goes to show that making holes and letting your garden go wild can soon attract hogs. 3 years ago (back when the lawnmower wasn't redundant, lol) I never saw a hedgehog on the few occasions I set the trail camera.

How lovely. We do not tend to see our hedgehogs now, but they definitely visit us. This is mainly due to the feeding station being in a quieter area, whereas once we used to place food outside our bi-folding doors so that we could watch them

We have 3 visiting at the moment, maybe not all on the same night, but certainly 3 of differing sizes using the boxes.
