Here's a report of a strange happening which might have caused Car Insurance companies to scratch their heads if any claims had been made.

Motorists on a 60 ft [18m] stretch of road in Coventry screeched to a halt after the fruits started raining down. Cars were pelted, and there were hundreds of mashed apples all over the place.

The incident is thought to have be caused by freak weather conditions, when a sudden vortex of wind pressure lifted the fallen fruit from an orchard many miles away and dropped it over Coventry.

One motorist was reported in the Telegraph as saying "The apples just fell out of the sky as if out of nowhere. They were small and green and hit my bonnet hard. Everyone had to stop their cars. I know the area well and there aren't any apple trees around"

It makes you wonder what you'd do if the same thing happened when you were gardening !!The extraction was taken from the Amateur Gardening Magazine.

Sounds as if they were crab apples then.
Perhaps someone was just fooling around lobbing them into the road.....there was obviously no malus intended. :D
