Daisees I think there are enough keen members to do this :)

If you could help set the thread up I'll go first, I don't mind. I'm just not too sure how to get it going.
I don't mind having a go at setting the questions based on the suggestions put in here?

Why not thrash out the list of questions here before starting the actual thread/section?

    good thinking Clueless.

    What about 10 questions?

    eg
How long have you been gardening?
What style of gardening do you prefer?
How did you get interested in gardening?
    What is your biggest success/failure?

    please add....

A very interesting idea. A few more questions maybe:

Do you belong to a local gardening or horticultural club? If so, how does it enrich your gardening experience?

Are you interested more in vegetable or ornamental gardening?

Is there an area of gardenening that you would consider your 'speciality'?

Why don't we have a few questions aimed at coaxing info out of beginners (like me) that don't really know what they're doing? They might unwittingly give an answer which more experienced gardeners can immediately pick up on and point to possible problems and solutions.

    For example:
What is your preferred method of improving soil conditions?
What are some of your favorite plants and how well do they grow?
What is your grand scheme for the next couple of years, and how to you plan to achieve it?

I would chuck a few lighthearted questions in there too-along with things like "what did you want to be when you grew up?" Stuff like that too to ease them in. Some real break the ice questions.

Great idea to keep it fun too.

So who is going to set the questions? A moderator?

    Such as:

When you first started, were you under the dilusion that gardening is relaxing?

How about some wildlife related questions:

Would you eat an earthworm for a dare or bet?
Do you aim for visual impact, scent, attractiveness to wildlife or a combination of these?
How do you feel about the various creepy crawlies that are an inevitable part of a thriving garden (spiders, beetles, worms etc)?

    And, some questions about motivation:
    Why do you bother?
If money was no object and you could afford to get the best gardener in on demand and let him/her have his/her own way, would you do so or would you still do it yourself?
Do you try to compete with your neighbours?

I'm game for this idea. All of the above questions sound fine (and fun).

I think we need someone to offer to run it.
