Last year I planted some tubers[?] of this and they were beautiful. I bought mine although they do grow wild in Longleat woods. They're lovely delicate little flowers with beautiful curled red leaf buds.

This year there was no sign of them; I don't know if the suirrels might have eaten them, or they just didn't like my bit of woodland.
This year i've bought some seed. Has anyone grown these from seed?

How charming a bed of cheerfulness in your garden at this time of year.

Mine aren't up yet either but we are colder over here. No idea about growing them from seed, I pinched a few bits out of the woods and they did take several years to get settled in our garden. Perhaps you are having the same problem.

Sadly, like all members of the family, the seed has a very short life span. Unless sown fresh from the plant there is very little chance of it germinating.
It is a little early still. I would not give up hope on yours, they are tough things and will survive most conditions, except desert or drowning in permanent water.
Ours are not even beginning to show growth. I accidently dug up some roots today and they are still dormant, except for a tiny bit of gren at the tip.
