    Thanks for your kind comments Sheal, Shiney and Strongy. Confession time, only the first photo is mine, the others were all taken by Mrs Trunky, who is far more accomplished (and has a better camera) than me.

    The thing which struck us many times during the course of our travels in Canada, was the way much of the wildlife seemed to have little or no fear of humans, which of course provides for some great photo opportunities.

    Here's some of the insect and bird life we came across on our travels (again, photo credits go to Mrs Trunky, apart from the final one).

      Love the Camberwell Beauty, a very rare Butterfly here. Hummers are beautiful too, saw quite a few in Wyoming and Colorado but all the same species.

      Thanks for the butterfly ID @strongylodon , I had no idea what it was. :redface:

      I see the Camberwell Beauty goes by the name of 'Mourning Cloak' over there. It has a fairly scary looking caterpillar too. :yikes:
