    Hi,

Thanks @Selleri lads classes were different to the girls classes so I was never taught needlework but I think I'd have been better with needlwork than woodwork. I can knit though but on industrial knitting machines knitting materials like Jersey and Crimplene where I worked continental night shifts. I can weave blankets on a needle loom; I can pattern warp fine worsteds; I've learned so many skills over the years some really bad ones like repairing chromic acid pumps and being a glass fiber laminator; an whole list of assorted jobs which started at the age of 15 down the pit as an apprentice mechanical engineer.

There are still highly skilled people in the UK but sadly as your rightly say it's the foreigners who now bring dedication and pride to jobs; our lot only work with one hand; the other hand is for their mobile phone and if they smoke how do they actually do anything at all; I often see so called professionals working on neighbours houses spending lots of time enjoying a natter in their van instead of doing a bit of honest grafting. The only work I don't do is anything associated with gas; electrics are easy enough for me as is all kinds of building work.

Do you fancy trying anything new @Selleri ?

    Kind regards, Col.
