We don't use slug pellets because a) the dogs eat them! and b) we want to attract birds and don't want them eating poisoned slugs/snails and c) although I cringe at slugs I actually like snails (??!!!)
The bird population in the garden is now terrific.
I have to plant in boats to stop my plants being eaten.
BUT - to see blackbirds and thrushes wiping slugs on the ground to eat them (and bashing my poor snails to bits on the wall) it has all been worth it!

Good for you fmay :D :D :D Your garden will reach a balance and the birds will keep the slugs under control. Slug pellets kill hedgehogs, birds and pets.

You'd have to plant in fast power boats to get away from the slugs in my garden.......
