Yes it is Kerria. It's vigorous growing shrub which produces yellow flowers in April/May amongst light green leaves.. It can grow to about 1 1/2 - 2 metres and the spread can be the same, so you will need to keep it in check.. I have seen them trained up a trellis and that looked nice.. I had to get rid of my bush when I had a wall built, but they are pretty tough plants..

As @Marley Farley mentioned - they are incredibly vigorous growing. When well established, they send loads of shoots from the roots and rapidly spread outwards and upwards.

Yours is a lovely little shrub and when it's reached it's ideal spread, cut off new shoots near ground level to keep under control as they can be quite high-maintenance when they get big.

                I'm not :snork:

@Snorky85 A lovely plant but can be very invasive if you don't keep an eye on it and follow Mowerman's instructions.

Ours have been in the ground for many years and we just use a hedgecutter to keep the top down as we have let lots of new shoots grow over the years and it is now a shrub.

If you can make it to our Open Day I'll show you what you can let it do. We really like it. Things are a bit advanced this year so it will probably be finished flowering by that time.

Excellent point by @Silver surfer :blue thumb: :love30: Didn't even occur to me to mention it

Although it's vigorous it forms a mass of colour and can be kept under control.
