Thanks. I will check. It has unusually large leaf hence the attraction to this tree.

    Hi ilan :sign0016:

Looks like it could possibly be Paulownia (Foxglove tree) to me, if it is it can either be grown as seen in the photo for the best chance of flowering or cut down to almost grown level each March to produce several stems to 15ft in one season with even larger leaves. Its a great hardy tree for a tropical garden, I love them :dbgrtmb:

Or it could be a 'Tulip' tree - liriodendron? Can't really see the exact shape of the leaves.

I did consider Tulip tree Grannie, but I couldn't see any trucated leaves.

Paulownia was my other thought Bilbo:dbgrtmb:

I would reckon Paulonia due to the upright habit and leaf shape.

I agree , Paulownia , I do have both the "pocket hankerchief" Davida as well the leaves are smaller.

A beautiful tree but sadly my area is too hot and dry for it.

Thanks guys. Having looked at the leaf again with some pics from the net it does look like Paulownia. Another mystery solved. Now how far do I need to plant from the house?

miraflores, I had a look at the pier and there were quite a few boats but couldn't see the El Barco latino.
