A D.I.Y. Dunce who fancied himself as a handyman ended up bricking himself into his own cellar. the 64 year old only escaped after 2 days by smashing through another wall and into a furious neighbours house . The man ,from Leipzig,Germany ,intended to seal off his cellar to save on heating bills. But he was on the wrong side of his wall when the last brick was slotted into place. " WHOOPS you might say", said a police spokesman. the man now faces charges of disturbing the peace . music .
Reminds me when people saw off branches with the ladder leaning on the wrong side, cartoon below the closest thing I could find!:
Saw that image when I was surfing earlier John, http://www.darwinawards.com/ Have a scroll thru that one, not so good as previous years so you might want to look at the archives :pala:
Ah the Darwin awards, it's a long time since I read them, amazing that people still do such crazy things.
Went to a chap who was cutting his hedge with electric trimmers. He was standing on a plank across his sizable pond ehen he fell in. He had disabled the RCD as it kept cutting out. His wife heard the screams, found him juddering in the water still holding the shears, she turned off the power. When we got there he was soggy and shaken but otherwise fine. Very lucky chap. We suggested he buy a new RCD. Cheers David
Exlabman, that guy was very very lucky. No wonder the Health & Safety culture has taken off recently, I'm sure people had more common sense in the past.
Not so sure John, [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWeXpNyqOrU"]YouTube - Noel Murphy - Murphy and the Bricks (Pat Cooksey)[/nomedia] :D
I agree, with Health & Safety people don't have to think for themselves any more and there are a lot of stupid people around!!!! Val
