Blackcurrent "Ben Sarek"

hello i bought a blackcurrent bush the other day and wanna plant it in our allotment but all weve had for days is rain and the soil is drenched.will it be ok or should i wait?the earth has already got loads of manure dug in but do i put more in the hole or will it make it too rich?im new to gardening and only got allotment last year which needed alot of work (hadnt been cultivated for about 3 year)we did manage a few veg this year and the berries are gonna go where the taties grew.im told all the gardens on the allotment have Club Root but our cabbage did quite well.will berries stand a chance?

 

Hi, if the blackcurrant is in a pot it will be OK to wait until conditions improve! This site has lots of advice about blackcurrants:-

I have found blackcurrants very tolerant of most conditions; My grandad moaned about Big Bud on his but always got lots of fruit.
