    Hi,

Am looking for a new BP Meter, upper arm type and have used a Omron M2 Compact but its getting a little tatty and its generally cheaper to buy a new rather than have them recalibrated.

While its seems Omron is good quality wonder what others use/suggest as there is such a wide price range for the current Omron meters , from £29 to well over £100+.

Wonder if anyone has seen the Which Report on the best ones to buy ?

My £10 (on offer) Omron is still working perfectly after many years, and constantly matches my local GP's when I take my BP and then take it in to check calibration.

                Thanks all,

@Scrungee - some of the surgerys digital meters used by the nurses look so knackered I wonder how they manage to read anything useful at all !
Perhaps why the GPs use the stethoscope and big manual dial types.

@Gail_68 yes, thanks had seen Agros selection, hence this post, so many at such wide prices.

Thanks, do use them, but don't have the prime service.

Have been looking at the specs for the Omron range and seems the actual mechanism/sensors are the same on the sub £100 models, its just the user display and connectivity features that set the models apart.
The humble M2 is good value at £26 , though think I will go for the £40 M3 Comfort which has the fancier easier to use cuff, seems that can help get better readings.

They have just halved the beta blocker dose as it was nearly stopping the heart in the middle of the night, scary ! but now on the lower dose the BP is rising so need a good meter to keep an eye on things.

Have a big Agros nearby with stock so can pick on up tomorrow.

I hope you got your BP meter mate :)....i've read about beta blockers in the past for some people the strength given can be to much...i have low BP but it's checked regular.

Best of luck with the new meter and with the high BP :fingers crossed:

                        Hi,

Just picked up the Omron M3 Comfort this morning and have to say it seems quiet good.
A few extra bells and whistles make it better than the old one but without getting into too many complex features I don't need.

Think it shows my old one was reading a bit high , though a bit tatty after ten years use.
Also like the new style Intelli cuff which make fitting it a lot less prone to errors, it gives an error message if its not on right !

Been on the same dose bb for many years, suppose its just old age catching me out.

Suppose its equally difficult for you as from other folk I have known with low pressure theres not a medication for it ? Do you have problems with passing out anywhere or just bouts of giddyness ?

Its true what were were told as youngsters , never get old !
