So my choice was PlusNet, saved a lot and so far, such a good service, only downside, if you could call it that is they don't give you an email address, but I have several others to use, so no problem. The BT hub used to crash every week, when I told them about it they just said switch it on and off to re-boot it, I felt they couldn't care less, so far the PlusNet has not packed in once. Now I am aware that BT/EE are linked in with PlusNet, all the same company I think, so no idea what they are playing at, but happy with PlusNet, with an EE mobile and no landline, saved quite a lot a month doing this.

      Hi,

Well done @burnie you're now fully sorted and I hope everything goes well for you. I'm with EE TV bundle and iD SIM only mobile being happy with both; my bonus is being clear of Virgin Media.

My next job is to dump Microsoft because they think they have more rights over my computer than I have; it's ironic that they supply online security but are the main problem spying on customers including access to personal information, I rank Microsoft like I rank Virgin Media; life is better without them.

      Kind regards, Col.

@Retired - don't want to clog this thread up with computer details. but getting rid of MS is not always that easy.
Sure you can get a ChromeBook and easily test out or install the free Linux Mint, which is very good, but as someone who clearly uses a lot different PC programs in persuit of your hobbies, you will find some of them will only work properly under Windows.

Have you looked at the various free programs like OOShutup where you can control what info goes to MS ?
O&O ShutUp10++: Free antispy tool for Windows 10 and 11

To us, the biggest intruder is Google who scan your Gmails etc and sells the info to advertisers, ever wondered how those ads always seem relevant to you ?

Sorry bit late to the party with my answer, but I have had Toob for a couple of years now (moved from Virgin) and I would have to say they are a quality service. They did have a couple of major outages just after we joined, but other than that it has been very good, I am on the 900MB service and I am getting 950mbps upload and download. My understanding is that Toob piggy back on the City Fibre\Vodaphone backbone. Current prices are £25 for the 900MB service with no in contract price increases

Yes, just a bit too late.....:)

Signed up to Toob just last week and getting switched over from Vodafone at the end of the month.

The backbone is City Fibre so even Vodafone piggy back like Toob, so the actual connecion no different, but its just as you say a fixed price for the contract term, unlike Virgin and Vodafone with their yearly increases.
Toob do have their own fibre network in a few southern counties.

The nice thing this about changing providers this time is I just contacted Toob and requested the One Touch Switch (OTS) which means you do not have to contact the old provider at all.
Wish it had been around when we tried moving from Virgin a few years back.
